Eucalyptus bush on our verge - Pin-cushion Hakea

The leaves of this bush are huge and very tough and leathery. I cut it so it doesn't grow in to an enormous tree, but I have no idea what it is or if it does want to grow large. According the leaves it should be... they are almost the size of my hand.
